It is required for all students to have an insurance. If you are an exchange student from national origin, you must have a major medical expenses insurance with comprehensive coverage. And if you are an international exchange student, you must have a valid international policy (major medical coverage)
What if my country has Social Security?
Social security from different countries, while useful, can't be taken as International Medical Expense Insurance, as it doesn't fulfill the requirements made by Anahuac Mayab University.
What should my Insurance Policy Cover?
Your international medical expenses insurance policy should be a broad, creditable coverage throughout Mexico. Covered Medical Expenses (mandatory):
Illness
Accident (Assistance in emergencies, hospital nursing)
Medical services, medicines and pharmacy
Outpatient and inpatient treatment
Repatriation of remains
Personals liability Insurance: Damage to property and personal injury
Transportation expenses
Remember that you must submit a copy of your insurance policy in Spanish or English, which reflects covering the requirements we requested earlier along with the “International Health Insurance Information” form.
It is important to remember checking your full medical expenses insurance before your arrival in Mexico, as the policy must cover the day of the orientation course.
